Plan, Build and Get Value from Microsoft Fabric
Microsoft Fabric brings data integration, data engineering, warehousing, real time analytics and Power BI into one platform. For organisations already using Microsoft 365, Azure or Power BI, it is the most direct path to a single, trusted source of business data.
Microknot helps Australian businesses plan, implement and get value from Microsoft Fabric. We design the architecture, connect your source systems, build reliable data pipelines and deliver the reports and AI ready data your leaders need.
Is Microsoft Fabric right for your business?
Fabric is a strong fit when:
- Your data is spread across ERP, CRM, finance, ecommerce and spreadsheets, with no single view
- Power BI reports are slow, inconsistent or rely on manual data preparation
- You are paying for several separate data tools and want to simplify
- You are on Power BI Premium and need to plan your move to Fabric capacity
- You want your data ready for AI, Copilot and advanced analytics
We give you an honest recommendation. If a simpler Power BI or Azure SQL solution meets your needs at lower cost, we will tell you.

Frequently asked questions
What is Microsoft Fabric?
Microsoft Fabric is an all in one analytics platform from Microsoft. It combines data integration, data engineering, data warehousing, real time analytics and Power BI, with all data stored in a single data lake called OneLake.
Do we need Microsoft Fabric if we already use Power BI?
Not always. Fabric adds value when you need to combine data from many systems, automate data preparation or work with large data volumes. For smaller reporting needs, Power BI on its own may be enough. A readiness assessment will confirm the right option.
How long does a Microsoft Fabric implementation take?
A foundation with the first priority reports typically takes six to ten weeks. Larger platforms are delivered in phases over several months.
How much does Microsoft Fabric cost?
There are two parts: Microsoft licensing, which is based on the Fabric capacity you choose, and implementation services. We estimate both during the readiness assessment so you have a full picture before committing.
Can you migrate our existing data warehouse to Fabric?
Yes. We migrate from SQL Server, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory and Power BI Premium, and plan the migration so existing reports keep working.
